The Books Were Written Through the Passages of My Life | Marie-Dominique Railassage Of My Life

There are books we write.

And there are books that life writes through us.

When I look back on my journey, I realize that each of my books emerged from a passage of life that first asked to be lived before it could be expressed.

I never set out to build a collection of books about healing.

I simply tried to walk through life as honestly as I could.

And the books followed.

Over time, I began to understand that my books, music, writings, and spiritual companionship were not separate paths.

They were different expressions of the same journey.

A journey through presence.

Through love.

Through grief.

Through healing.

Through transformation.

Through the countless passages that shape a human life.

Semper Fidelis was born from presence.

It emerged from the discovery that beneath the movement of life, there exists a place within us that remains faithful.

A place untouched by circumstance.

A place of silence.

A place of prayer.

A place of remembrance.

Then came Beyond the Veil.

A book born through loss, love, and the mystery that continues beyond physical absence.

It was written while learning that love does not disappear when someone leaves this world.

It changes form.

It asks us to listen differently.

To feel differently.

To remain connected in ways that cannot always be explained.

And then came Beyond Recovery.

Perhaps the most intimate of the three.

Not because it speaks about illness.

But because it speaks about what comes after.

After survival.

After treatment.

After the crisis has passed.

It explores a territory that is rarely spoken about:

the reconstruction of a life,

a body,

an identity,

and a relationship with oneself.

This book was born through cancer, transplantation, recovery, and the long journey of learning how to live differently.

Not as the person I once was.

But as the person I was becoming.

Looking back now, I see that these books are not separate stories.

They are chapters of the same story.

The story of a soul learning to transform life's passages into light for others.

I did not write these books as an expert standing outside the experience.

I wrote them as someone walking through it.

As someone who has known uncertainty.

Grief.

Illness.

Silence.

Resilience.

Reconstruction.

And renewal.

If there is one thread woven through every page I have written, it is this:

Healing is not about becoming someone else.

It is about returning, again and again, to what is most true within us.

Sometimes through silence.

Sometimes through tears.

Sometimes through love.

And sometimes through experiences that change us forever.

My hope is that these books serve not as instructions, but as companions.

A gentle presence beside those who may be navigating their own passages.

Because no matter what we are living, we all cross thresholds.

And perhaps one of the greatest gifts we can receive is discovering that we do not have to walk them alone.

With gratitude,

Marie-Dominique Rail
